Alex previously worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Juvenile Division for Baltimore City. Her primary focus centered on representing the City of Baltimore in juvenile competency matters. The high paced nature of this work allowed her to gain valuable litigation experience.
Alex obtained her law degree from the University of Baltimore. While in law school, Alex worked as a law clerk at Bates & Garcia in Baltimore City. She also worked as a student attorney in the Mediation Clinic for Families, where she co-mediated family disputes, observed appellate mediations, and conducted a group research project and presentation on mediation language, focusing on how language influences the perception of parties in family disputes.
Upon graduation, Alex clerked in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland for the Honorable Robert J. Thompson.
Originally from Texas, Alex grew up in a suburb of San Antonio, while spending her summers as a sailing instructor on the Potomac River in Washington DC. She went on to sail for Texas A&M, served as President of the team her senior year of college, and represented the team at the ICSA Women’s National Championships.
Alex resides in Baltimore City, where she enjoys the vibrant urban environment and all the opportunities it offers. She is also an active member of the Annapolis community, particularly during the summer months, when she enjoys sailing and the area’s maritime culture.
